Text:
This is a picture of me with my Grandma May taken on my first birthday. Family members have always told me that I am a lot like her. She was very creative and loved doing crafty things including handwork like crochet & embroidery. She died when I was eight and the few memories I have of her are very precious to me.

When I was younger everytime my Dad saw me crafting he would comment that I got that creativity from his mother. As I have gotten older I find myself thinking of her more often, and longing for a relationship that breast cancer stole from me.

This is the only picture of her with me that exists. This is why I scrapbook. I scrapbook in memory of a woman I barely remember to make sure that my grandchildren and their grandchildren can know me with all my quirks and faults. I want to make sure that they don't have this space in their heart. I want them to have books full of preserved memories.

I miss you!
