Text -
It is always the little things that trigger memories. I had a wonderful childhood. In an era when most men didn't really have much to do with raising kids my Dad took an active roll in our lives. My Mom worked full time and still managed to make all of my clothes until I started junior high school. We were by no means wealthy, but I always knew that my parents loved me no matter what. I was raised to be self sufficient and to know how to take care of myself in a time when most girls were still raised to get married.
This fork came to me in a round about way, but every time I look at it I remember my childhood. This fork is the only piece left of the flatware that we used for every meal as far back as I can remember. I don't know how my mother managed to hold on to the same set for so many years, or why it makes such an impression on me - but here it is, the one thing that never fails to make me smile. I cherish these beloved memories.

The tags inside the pocket have different memories on them.
